Hand crafted
There's a reason the handi has been at the heart of Indian cooking for centuries, and this one brings that legacy right back to your kitchen. Hand-hammered by skilled artisans of Pitalnagri, every curve and texture on this handi tells a story of craft passed down through generations.
Brass naturally distributes heat evenly, letting your curries, dals, and slow-cooked dishes develop the kind of depth and flavour that modern cookware simply cannot replicate. The fitted lid locks in steam and aroma, so every meal cooked in this handi tastes the way it was always meant to.
Beautiful enough to serve in. Purposeful enough for everyday cooking.
100% Pure Brass with Food-Safe Kalai
Lovingly handcrafted from 100% pure brass and finished with a food-safe kalai (tin) lining, this piece honours the timeless traditions of Indian cookware. Free from synthetic non-stick coatings, it lets you cook the way generations have—using authentic materials crafted for everyday kitchens.
Naturally Smooth Cooking Surface
The food-safe kalai lining creates a naturally smooth cooking surface that helps reduce sticking when used with the right amount of oil. It preserves the authentic taste of your recipes while making cooking and cleaning easier, bringing together traditional craftsmanship and everyday convenience.

Everyday Care
- Wash with mild dish soap and a soft sponge after each use.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh scrubbers, as they may damage the finish and tin lining (Kalai).
- Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth after washing to prevent water spots and maintain its natural shine.
To Restore the Shine
Over time, brass/Copper/Kansa naturally develops a soft patina, which is a sign of authentic metal and does not affect its performance.
To bring back its original lustre :
- Gently rub the exterior with a natural paste made from Flour (atta) + Lemon + Salt.
- Rinse with clean water and wipe dry immediately.
- Avoid using acidic cleaners on the tin-lined interior (Kalai).
Every Pitalya piece is thoughtfully handcrafted by skilled artisans, making each creation truly one of a kind. As a result, slight variations in size, weight, shape, colour, texture, or finish are natural and reflect the beauty and authenticity of traditional handmade craftsmanship.
Please note that product images may vary slightly from the actual product due to lighting conditions, photography, and individual screen settings.
Rest assured, every Pitalya product is crafted using 100% pure brass, copper, or kansa (as specified) with meticulous attention to quality, craftsmanship, and timeless design. While each piece may have subtle handcrafted variations, the design, material, and quality will always remain true to what is shown and described.
